Is It Time To Replace Your Furnace?
There comes a point where it becomes more expensive to repair your furnace than it costs to just replace it. The older a furnace gets, the more expensive and the less efficient it becomes. Newer units are always more energy efficient, as well as safer. They can also produce better indoor air quality.
That being said, if you have provided proper maintenance over the years, then your furnace could last more than 10 years. Instead of replacing it, it is better to improve the energy efficiency in other parts of your home, in combination with continuing to provide regular maintenance for your furnace.
Indications That You To Replace Your Furnace

Most furnaces will last between 10 to 14 years. If the furnace is more than 15 years old, then this may indicate that you need a new one.
