Why should we clean the freezer regularly?
There are tasks at home that we tend to postpone because we find it very tedious and annoying to perform them, and without a doubt one of them is cleaning the freezer.
To clean the refrigerator, and more specifically the freezer can be a task that takes us several hours. But beware of the consequences if you don´t do it.
The other day my refrigerator started to throw water. The boxes below where I keep the vegetables were full of water. I didn´t know what to do. Finally, the technician checked it and discovered that the pipes in the freezer were tacked. He blew them and told us to clean the freezer on a regular basis to avoid this problem.
Our refrigerators are usually full of disordered foods, pieces of plastic, strips of paper bags and other debris.
To make it easier to clean it is recommended to do it regularly, at least once a week. It is not a pleasant task, but here are some tips for doing it.
How to clean the freezer:
- First of all, unplug the appliance.
- Do not use abrasive products. Use a cloth with water, detergent or neutral soap.
- To avoid stinky odors use a mixture of 1 liter of water with 1 tablespoon of baking soda.
- Dry well with a dry cloth before plugging again.
- Every day you can go over the doors with a creamy cleanser, especially in the handles.
- Do not forget about the rear grill. Lint and dust accumulate and hinder the proper functioning of the engine. Keeping it clean also saves energy. Some people recommend dropping hot water on the rear grill once a month.
