Refrigerator Door seal is essential for Proper functioning

With time and use, like any other appliance, refrigerators wear out. Compressors fail, ventilation burns, and other components need to be replaced for various reasons. Anyway, a small part of the fridge that can have a relative impact on its operation is the door seal. The rubber that seals determines the closing of the door and is a significant part of the device. The refrigerator will have several problems if the door does not close properly.Different Types of Refrigerators

Consequences of the Fridge closing improperly

  • The first consequence of improperly closing the refrigerator door is a decrease in its ability to keep the air cold. The opening of a refrigerator door allows the cooled air inside the fresh food compartment to quickly escape into the kitchen air, and, in turn, the hot air to enter the interior, increasing its temperature. When a door does not close properly, the same thing happens. If the seal were bad enough, it could affect the ability of the refrigerator to keep your perishable food at safe temperatures. When the indoor temperature exceeds 40 degrees Fahrenheit, there is the possibility of bacterial growth, which creates a dangerous situation related to food poisoning.
  • An excess of frost and the accumulation of moisture inside your freezer and refrigerator can be the result of a poorly closed door. The high humidity inside the appliance can cause sweating on its interior results of bad use of doorwalls or any other surface. In the freezer compartment, lower temperatures can turn this sweat into ice that creates even more problems. The higher the proper air intake inside the refrigerator, the higher the humidity that is generated. Keeping the door closed hermetically will help keep the interior dry, enabling proper operation.
