An unexpected dinner and a bottle of wine or champagne that we bought at the last minute or rescued from a living room closet, and it needs to be cooled. Could you chill it in the freezer if it has been in a warm room for a long time? Could we lower its temperature if we wrapped it in towels or wet paper? 
Tips to cool wine or champagne quickly
Option 1: refrigerator door
The first alternative is to place the wine in the door of the refrigerator and let it gradually cool down. For the wine to be at its ideal temperature, especially whites and sparkling wines (which are the coldest ones), you will need between 30 and 40 minutes.
Option 2: water with ice
If you do not have enough time to cool it in the door of the refrigerator, you have an alternative that importantly reduces the time. Fill a large container with ice water and introduce the bottles you want to cool there. It is much more effective than using only ice. You will need between 12 and 15 minutes to have your white wine or your sparkling wine at the ideal temperature. The reds (which are served at a higher temperature) will be ready in less than 5 minutes.
Option 3: water, ice, and salt
This option is the fastest of all and consists of adding a tablespoon of salt to the ice and water mixture. Move the mixture a little so that the salt dissolves and introduce your bottle into the mixture. In less than 5 minutes it will be at your temperature. Why does salt cool the drink so quickly? The mix of salt and water produces an endothermic reaction, which means that once dissolved it absorbs the heat from the container where the drink is stored so that the cold passes more quickly to the liquid.
With these three simple tricks, you will be able to cool a bottle of wine in a short time and without the drink losing properties.
