How to wash and maintain the dishwasher?
Every day, the use of dishwashers in homes is more common, for the convenience and speed of cleaning kitchen utensil. But its maintenance is very important. All the kitchen utensils washed in the dishwasher are dirty, and they have the remains of food, which makes the device unclean and its efficiency diminishes. Many people do not care about the maintenance and washing of the dishwasher.
Steps to wash and keep the dishwasher clean:
1) Fill the sink halfway with water and add 2 cups of vinegar, this mixture will go to the dirty parts of the dishwasher, while a towel will clean the walls and the base. In case you do not have vinegar you can use a lemon powder drink dissolved in water, water with lemon, or simply a dishwasher cleaner.
2) Remove the supports and grids. You must remove the two “shelves” from the dishwasher along with the utensil holder and other pieces that are not part of the grids. Place them in the sink with the water solution with vinegar, or clean them with a damp cloth with the same solution. It is essential to check that there is no food residue, if there is, use a toothpick or a pointed tool to remove the remains.
3) Remove the remains of food from the holes in the rotating arms, the orifices must be clean so that the water passes freely, and the dishwasher works properly. Be careful if you use a metal tool, so as not to deform the holes when cleaning them, that’s why it’s better to use a toothpick.
4) Clean around the edges of the door and the lid. When the dishwasher cycles, this space is not washed. Use a damp cloth and the vinegar solution (or if you want, a little mild spray cleaner). A brush or other old kitchen soft brush can help you get to the corners and under the lid.
