Different Ways to Clean the Microwave Oven
Splashes that remain in the microwave after heating food look terrible, smell bad and reduce the efficiency of the oven. Luckily, if you know how, it will not be that hard to clean.
Here are some simple techniques:
Lemon and baking soda
- Put water and lemon juice in a bowl on high for 6 minutes, then wipe the walls and plate of the oven with a mixture of 1 cup water and 1 tablespoon baking soda.
Lemon, orange, or lime
- Place 1 cup of water in a microwave-safe bowl with chopped lemon, lime orange or several tablespoons of vinegar. Turn the machine on high for 5 or 6 minutes. When the solution boils and water vapor is in the window, it is ready.
Baking Soda
- All you have to do is put 2 tablespoons of baking soda in a microwave safe bowl and add 1 cup of water on the top. Put the bowl in the microwave for 3 or 4 minutes. The baking soda will kill the stinky smells and when the water starts to turn into gas or steam, it will clean the stains and spots. Microwave it for 5 or 6 minutes and leave it with the door closed for 12-15 minutes.
With dishwashing liquid
- Fill a microwave bowl with warm water. Add as much dishwashing liquid as you think is convenient. Put the bowl in the microwave for 1 minute or until it starts to steam. Take out the bowl. With a damp sponge, clean the inside of the microwave. The steam will loosen all the viscosity so you can easily clean the microwave.
With glass cleaner
- In a safe bowl, mix 2 parts glass cleaner with 1 part hot water. This diluted solution will be enough to clean the microwave oven both inside and outside. Clean the interior with a cloth. Soak a sponge in the cleaning solution and use it to clean the inside of the microwave. After the interior is shiny, soak a clean cloth with fresh water and wipe it.
