  • Press its tab down and then open the lint filter
  • Roll the lint off the filter with your fingers.
  • Do not wash/rinse the filter to remove lint. Wet lint can be very tough to remove.
  • Close the lint filter and push it firmly back into place.

Fabric softener and laundry detergent residues can buildup on the lint filter and can result in lengthier drying times for the clothes. Sometimes, the dryer might also stop before the load is entirely dry. If you notice the lint falling off when the screen is in the dryer, likely the filter is clogged.

It’s crucial to clean the lint filter every six months using a nylon brush or even more frequently if need be, and you notice the residue buildup. The frequency of dryer maintenance can vary depending on the amount of use the appliance sees and the types of clothes you are washing as well.

To Wash the Lint Filter

  • Roll the lint off the filter with your fingers gently.
  • Wet both sides of the filter with hot water.
  • Wet a semi-soft nylon brush with hot water & any liquid detergent. Scrub the lint filter with the brush to quickly remove residue buildup.
  • Rinse the filter with hot water.
  • Thoroughly dry your lint filterusing a clean towel.
  • Reinstall the filter in the dryer.
