Advantages of freezers at the bottom of a refrigerator
Among the different types of fridges, we currently find refrigerators with the freezer at the bottom, and not traditionally where it is on the top or side.
Advantages and disadvantages of a refrigerator with the freezer at the bottom
Freezer at the top
- Apart from frozen food, everything else is stored in the lower compartments, like fruits and vegetables in drawers at the bottom
- Must open the fridge many times to have access to daily items such as fruits and vegetables
- For many people, it is hard to bend down often, especially when retrieving fruits and vegetables that are at the bottom of traditional refrigerators
Freezer at the bottom
- Easier access to the foods and products we use the most
- More extensive in size which allows for freezing larger items
- More efficient than the upper freezers in traditional refrigerators
- Since hot air rises, the warmer refrigerator air will rise into the freezer area, making it harder to maintain the proper temperature. In a bottom-mounted configuration, that cannot happen, and the warmer air in the refrigerator rises above.
