How to defrost in the microwave
Since its appearance, the microwave oven has become an essential appliance in the kitchen of homes.
On many occasions, you forget to take food from the freezer in time to cook it. The solution is to use the option of defrosting that microwaves offer, and the problem is solved.
Here are some suggestions
- Some older microwaves do not have the option to program the defrosting process. Put it on minimum power 1 or 2 minutes. If it is still frozen, try to separate the pieces and put it again at the same time. In the later generations of microwaves, there is an option in which defrosting is programmed depending on the weight and type of product. Some even have an indicator that says when to turn the food.
- Defrost the product if possible in small parts.
- To defrost fish, remove the plastic in which it is wrapped, then wash and place in the microwave in a suitable container. Do not leave it for more than 2 minutes.
- For meat, you must remove the plastic wrapping, put it in a suitable container, and put it in 1 to 3 minutes. If you have the option of defrosting by weight and product, select the meat and calculate the weight and then set the time. The meat will be ready to cook, a process that we must do immediately after thawing.
- Defrosting chicken is a process similar to those described above. Ideal before freezing the chicken is to cut it in pieces, and not microwave the whole piece.
