Easy Tips To Clean Your Oven
Cleaning the oven is a hard and disgusting job, but a necessary task in any home. In order to have a sparkling and hygienic kitchen, here are some tips that will help you to clean your oven. We will show you the best and easiest ways to keep your oven looking good without using chemicals.
Preventing Method
Catch the dirt and avoid cleaning. When you are baking something, place a large baking pan on the rack below. In this way, the overflows will be caught in the dish. Just put the pan in the dishwasher afterward. You can also put the oven racks in the dishwasher on the hottest setting.
Steam Method
This method is useful if the oven doesn’t contain a lot of greases. If this is the case, you need something stronger. The steam method is easy to apply and your oven will be relatively clean. This is how:
- Place a large container full of water into the oven on the lowest rack.
- Turn the oven to the highest setting and ‘bake’ for 20–30 minutes.
- Let the oven cool (don’t open the door).
- Wipe the oven with a damp cloth. The steam will loosen any grime and will disappear!
Bicarbonate of Soda Method
First, make a thin paste adding enough water to a cup of bicarbonate of soda. Second, heat your oven gently and let it cool down. Third, apply the paste thinly to the walls of your oven. Fourth, place some vinegar in a spray bottle and spray the bicarbonate of soda on the oven walls. This produces a reaction that will clean the oven walls. Let the mixture sit for about an hour. Last, take a damp cloth and gently wipe the mixture off. You will notice how easy it is to remove the grease and grime as the bicarbonate of soda breaks them down.
Advice: Keep the outside of your oven looking clean by investing in a good quality microfibre cloth.
