Moving to a small apartment?
Last summer I moved into a “studio”, a small flat apartment with no divisions. My concern was, which things were indispensable. Before buying anything, I made a plan to accommodate everything I really needed. This is my advice.
Making room for all the appliances and furniture in a small living space may seem like an overwhelming task, but it does not have to be. Take into account that there are 5 spatial strategies to accommodate the elements in a new living environment. We sometimes wonder what things are necessary for a new house. Follow the planning we have for you.
Before making any purchase, create a list of the furniture you need for these areas:
Bedroom
Living room
Kitchen/Dining room
Study
Bath
Let’s look at these even further down in a list of suggested articles in general of what can fit in these areas.
For the bedroom:
- Bed (mattress)
- Pillow and bedding (sheets, cover)
- Closet, wardrobe or chest of drawers (to store clothes)
- Hangers
- Bedside table
- Table lamp
- Chair
- Mirror
For the living room:
- Sofa
- Picture
- Table lamps
- Coffee table
- Shelves
- Candles to decorate
Things for the kitchen and dining room:
- Table (to sit and eat)
- Chairs (for table or bar)
- Utensils (to eat or cook)
- Plates, glassware
- Kitchen equipment: pots and pans, spatulas, microwave, conventional oven, coffee maker, blender, slow cooker, refrigerator, vertical washer and dryer, and stove. (This list can be longer according to your needs)
