How to extend the life of the A/C?
All air conditioning needs maintenance periodically. If an appliance does not have proper maintenance, the lifetime will be reduced drastically, and with air conditioning, there has to be extreme caution. To be able to maintain an adequate air conditioner, it is not necessary to have anything fancy or complicated, and you do not have to be an expert.
How does it work?
Making the air conditioner cold is based on a hermetically sealed refrigerant circuit, where different changes in the state of the refrigerant, or gas occur.
Throughout the circuit, the refrigerant constantly changes from liquid to gaseous state, and that is what makes an air conditioner keep the room cool. For these changes of states to occur without any alteration, it is important that the refrigerant (or gas) reaches certain temperatures and there is not much variation in them.
Cleaning the A/C
Indoor or outdoor air conditioning needs to be cleaned regularly. The indoor A/C usually have filters while the outdoor units don´t have filters. But if you do not have filters, it does not mean that you do not have to maintain it.
Tips to clean the A/C
If you have a compressed air compressor it would be easier and more effective. But, if you don’t have this tool, you can also do it with a brush and clean through all the slits.
One important thing to keep in mind is that you can not use anything sharp, because if you put a hole in the exchanger, the coolant will leak out becoming a much bigger problem.
